This session forms part of our Delivering Impact series exploring what is needed for the region to adapt to future climate scenarios and create resilience in our systems, communities and ways of life.
This session will examine adaptation and resilience in the context of business and industry. Hearing from a number of expert speakers followed by an open discussion, we will explore how climate impacts can be incorporated into business risk registers as a gateway to the creation of integrated adaptation plans. Some of the existing tools and frameworks that have been created to support business adaptation will be introduced, helping business leaders to understand what they are and how to use them.
This session connects with the YHCC’s climate pledge initiative, developing support for businesses in the region, and supporting their transition to delivering products and services that contribute to a socially and environmentally sound future economy. The discussion will consider how the region’s businesses can engage with climate change and prepare more effectively and what the Commission can do to support this.
Business leaders in the region are welcome to join us, whether just starting out in their learning about how to build resilience in the face of our changing climate, or already implementing adaptation measures within their organisations.
