Director, Business Declares
After 25 years in corporate life including several FTSE 100 organisations, Ben’s climate epiphany in 2019 (aged 49) led him to decarbonise his lifestyle and quit his UK Board role in 2020 at JLL, the world’s largest corporate real estate business. Since then he has chosen to dedicate his time to helping businesses/individuals raise awareness of/accelerate their plans to tackle, the climate, ecological, social crisis. He is a Director of Business Declares and Fashion Declares, mentor for green start-up businesses for the Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership, advocate of degrowth, deliberative democracy and member of the leaders for global assemblies campaign. He is a member of Warrington Borough Council’s Climate Emergency Commission and has campaigned locally for the CEE bill. He has been involved in non-violent direct action and recently mobilised the biggest ever business gathering at a climate protest (350 business leaders at The Big One). He loves being outdoors wherever possible!
